Throw rice at the wedding

When the newly wed couple leaves the church, the guests throw rice at them. Why?

With the rice, one wishes the couple a fruitful and child-rich marriage.

Today many bridal couples do without this ceremony in view of the famine in other countries. Some churches and registry offices even ask to refrain from throwing rice. In order not to do entirely without this magical custom, soap bubble bottles are often used today. The guests blow soap bubbles… A beautiful picture. Or you let balloons take to the skies with the best wishes for the bridal couple.
